In my garden this morning.

Yippee!!!! It's finally spring!!!

Garden tour photos...

I was in Victoria last summer on a garden tour and I was just going back through some of the pictures and here is what I have found......LOVELY! What great colors!!!!! Enjoy!

Look at the texture of this unbelievably beautiful eryngium planum. The color combo in the below photo with the Euphorbia Palustris is stunning! Lordy!

I have been lusting after Martagon Lilies lately and I just got Lily bulb - L. martagon x 'Claude Shride' and Lily Bulb - L. martagon x 'Orange Marmalade' from B & D Lilies at lilybulb.com all for my little self! YIPPEE!!! These plants in Victoria were amazing! The white one was super white!

I love the combination above with the Elderberry - it really picks up the stem color in the Martagon.......clever!

OK that's it.....just a few photos to share. Have a great day!

cypripedium candidum

So on Monday I was having many heart attacks because I FINALLY got my grubby little paws on two Cypripedium Candidum plants (I was as Sebright Hostas just north of Salem) that I have been dying for, for just about 2 years. Seriously, it made me tear up....

Well, silly me, I realized that I did not include pictures..... have a look at THIS! (above) I got the white one.....the other is just for show....

I am keeping these plants in their pots but planting them in the ground for at least a year....word has it that is the trick...and they will go into my moist (with good drainage) shade garden.....CAN'T WAIT TILL THEY BLOOM!...planting them not far from the other hardy orchid - Bletilla - I have - white - orchid and yellow plants and they are seriously lovely! They have just started poking their little heads about ground...they are surrounded by hakonechloa aurea and black mondo grass - quite the combo!

For those of you who have not heard of this amazing plant, you are certainly not alone. Who knew there were dozens of varieties of HARDY LADY SLIPPER ORCHIDS out there. Crazy! They are not easy to grow and they are spendy - $35 each for a teeny weeny little start, but LOOK AT IT!!!!! Worth EVERY penny!

Below are the bletilla........

Ok...there you have it - truly amazing!!!!!!

Sebright .....

Sebright Hostas....

Today Miss Barbara and Miss Susan went to Sebright Hostas between Woodburn and Salem. You cannot imagine how many lovely plants there were. I bought more than my fair share. For some reason, the picture of the Captain Kirk hosta got turned upside down - I did not love the hosta, but I did love the name.

The icing on the cake of my day though were the 2 cypripedium or lady slipper orchids that they had there waiting for me. Do you have any idea how difficult these are to find???? I have literally been looking for 2 years so needles to day, I am overjoyed!!! Yippee!!!! Now if I can get my grubby little paws on a few more martagon lilies.........anyone know where I can get a few....red please!
