So then we met some friends at this fun little bar called footsie as in FTSE the English stock exchange. Their schtick is that the reader board changes the drink prices every 4 minutes so you never know which way prices are going to go. Hilarious. The amazing Pam of city liquidators in pdx came for the show too and we had a few cocktails. She was kind enough to treat me to a yummy bottle of bday champagne. What's better than that?

What better place to spend it than Paris. Although the Maison show started today, I decided it was a day to slack off and have many cocktails, which started at lunch at the Musee D'Orsay. Check out this super cool living wall at the new Musee Quai Branly.

Day one in Paris.

So yesterday I did not get around to posting anything as I was too tired to put two words together. On top of the flight changes and 13 hours in Chicago, my suitcase didn't make it. Crap. Luckily, being a smart traveler I packed an extra days clothing and my pjs in my carry on. Whew!

I did make it to the concept store Merci. Super cool. Almost too cool and all proceeds go to charity. My fab was the Japanese super thin and fine paper plates. So delicate!

I've gotten this far.....

....so I get to Chicago at 5 am. Find a perfect bench for a nap only to be awakened by a call from the airlines telling me my flight was delayed 2.5 hours which would make me miss my last flight to gay paree. Sooooo I now have a direct flight but it does nit leave until 6:30. Crap. 13.5 hours in the Chicago airport. Better go find that bench again.

On my way

I have the worst flight in the history of flights. I had to put two tickets together dice I have to stop in Chicago for 3 days in my way home so here it is.......

Portland. San Fran. Chicago. Miami. Paris.

Seriously. I want to stab myself a hundred times.

But at least I am going to Paris. Yippee!!!! Stay tuned!!!

...until I leave for Paris! YIPPEE!!!!! Usually I stay on the Left Bank in the 5th, 6th or 7th, but this time I am trying it over on the Right Bank in the super fun Marais District......close to the most amazing Place des Vosges and Centre Pompidou........talk about a contrast! A bit more work to do before heading out......and a few more dinners with friends and Frenchy over the weekend...but for now, off to slumberland - I have a head cold to get rid of! Chop Chop!!!
