We have been working on a do-over for a client for the last few months. They went from an entirely peach interior to much more chic and colorful one. Here is some of the progress..... The upholstered pieces are all by Hickory Chair... Fabrics by Schumacher, Pindler and Duralee. Stay tuned for the finished product in a few weeks where we will post the before also. Huge change. HUGE!!!! I love my job!!!

Clarke and Clarke...new fabric line
This morning, Scott, my trusted Duralee rep. came by my office to show me this great new line of fabric and wallpaper from the UK. Clarke and Clarke. Colorful and cool! I can't believe I did not snap any pictures of the wallpaper - duh! The textures of the fabrics are wonderful and range in style from classic with killer color to mid-century inspired patterns and textures. It kind of reminds me of a cross between Philip Gorrivan for Highland Court and Jim Thompson printed silks......... I can't wait to use it on a project.......... Thanks, Scott for sharing this lovely new line with me!

Check out this page on OregonLive.com
The above article link is an article in today's Oregonian about a client project we have been working on for the last few months. The article is all about color - from none to lots! Thanks SO VERY MUCH to the darling Miss Bridget for allowing us to be part of her color story.....so exciting!!!
The very best part is that the first photo was actually the cover of the whole Home & Gardens section! YIPPEE!!!
This photo is of the dining room into the living room. Love the Hickory Chair Chinese fretwork dining chairs in a French Blue finish.. We used a Calvin Klein for Kravet Collections linen fabric with metallic peacock blue fibers running through it with a Kravet Couture multi-colored checkered silk for the welting. The killer chandelier is the Pagoda Chandelier by Currey and Co. Dear God, I love chinoiserie!!!!! Barbara Barry lamp on the buffet....
Again, from the dining room to the living room. We used Hickory Chair made to measure slipper chairs with a Kelly Wearstler herringbone patterned fabric. The small black table is by Mariette Hines-Gomez for Hickory chair. The sofa we had re-upholstered in a raspberry Metro Chenille - totally indestructible - by Duralee. The drapery fabric is a Laura Ashley ikat pattern for Kravet. You can't see it, but the fireplace to the right of the chair in the foreground we had re-tiled in a crema marfil marble in a 1 x 3 herringbone pattern to work with the chairs - lots of texture and pattern with a neutral color - just in case they change chair fabrics down the road...... The lamps on the altar table from Legend of Asia behind the sofa are black and gold metal tole painted chinoiserie by Currey and Co.
Upstairs guestroom....... The drapery fabric is Tea Blossom by Kravet - so beautiful. coral base with multi-color Asian inspired vases. Delightful! The wall color - which is truly amazing is Benjamin Moore Wasabi - part of the Affinity palette - it contrasts nicely with the curtains! It is a pity you can't see the dresser on the right - it is ivory lacquered in a slightly modern Chinese style with beautiful chow feet - by Bungalow 5.
all photos by Faith Cathcart / the Oregonian
This chair in the entry hall is an antique from the client's great grandmother - we covered it in a super colorful Jim Thomson linen-ish fabric which set the color palette for the whole ground floor of the house. This piece is really special! ...did I mention that I love Jim Thompson??
So thanks again to Miss Bridget - I am so happy!!!!!!

beautiful chinoiserie table setting....
Isn't it lovely??? Thomas Paul is the designer and I think this is my favorite pattern he has ever done! It comes in 5 color ways....
Thomas Paul's pagoda pattern (20959-19) for Duralee looks gorgeous as the table cover in this beautiful setting by Tobi Fairley Interior Design for the Lenox Hill gala celebrating Albert Hadley.

what we're up to these days....

Above is a large stack of the color palette we are working with - and we will be adding some rose/coral and ivory as well.

This fabric might be going on the hickory white chairs above....

...or it might end up on this modern wing chair or a basic slipper chair........
Above is the drapery fabric by Laura Ashley for Kravet - a great linen with an Ikat print in rose/coral with blue and ivory accents - we will be doing floor to ceiling non-working drapery panels in the livingroom - with the wing or clipper chairs - and in the dining room - with the Gillow chair and the Kelly Wearstler seat cushions. We will be using a Duralee Metro Chenille in Bubblegum on the sofa we are recovering that will sit in the same room....a super warm and colorful palette!
Above is an antique family piece - a great empire chair with lion head arms - that will sit in the entry hall and bring all the fabrics and pieces together and really set the tone for the three spaces as they all run into each other....
Here is the Jim Thompson Hexastripe fabric that will be applied to the lion chair with ivory double welting - self welting it would have been a bit chaotic!
I have been coveting the above piece for a VERY long time - the Hallings Secretary by Thomas O'Brien (sigh) for Hickory Chair - and I am finally ordering it for myself! YIPPEE! It is truly one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever seen....
Above is my favorite fabric in the world...Chiang Mai Dragon - by Schumacher - I am going to upholster two Heywood Wakefield chairs in this - I have no choice - my darling Stella decided to eat one of the chairs.......
Lastly, above is an outdoor fabric by Trina Turk for Schumacher that we are putting on a pair of vintage wire outdoor swivel chairs - sorry - the pictures of the chairs did not turn out - but I will post the finished product!
Have a great weekend - our weather has cooled down the the week's high of 107 here in Portland. Thank God - I am not a hot weather girl!

beautiful day in portland....
I forgot to include this chair in my High Point post, but I found it at the BoBo showroom.....all recycled blocks of wood in a very artistic chair......
This beautiful niche was at Bernadette Breu's shop in Portland....lots of cool stuff, always! www.bernadettebreuantiques.com
I love love these yellow french chairs. So cheerful in the garden!
I love this French gnome by Kiss That Frog - we carry to different styles of this little guy - This little display makes me want a cocktail!
Beautiful succulent display in handmade pots - in Seattle at the garden show....
I have this really fabulous client who recently asked me to help her with her outdoor covered patio space. We needed to recover the upholstery on her existing pieces with some fresh outdoor fabrics - we chose from the Suburban Home Collection from Duralee, these two photos are the before....all the furniture has been painted - the color palette is black, red and green. At first, my client was apprehensive about using black - thinking it might be too severe, but I explained that it would anchor the space and make it feel more sophisticated. Now that the space is almost done, she really likes the black... you can see some of the fabric samples on the pieces, but I won't have the after pictures until next week...we just got the cushions back and they look fab! We are waiting for a killer outdoor zebra striped rug and then I will have the complete after effect...stay tuned!
And finally, up close and personal with Miss Stella...tired after a long hard day at doggy day care....all hail the joys of doggy day care! Such a brilliant idea - I wish I would have thought of it...that and the Post-it note.....
Tune in later this week when I will have photos of my back yard remodel - the fence is starting to look amazing!

FINALLY!!!!! Our trip to High Point....
We had a great time at market - and although attendance was down and not every vendor was having a great time - we sure had a great time! So much to see in such a short time......
These photos are in no particular order. Some stuff I ordered for the shop, other stuff for clients and some things were just too cool and needed to be documented.
Lastly...I walked into this cake decorating shop - my funny and weird friend Todd thought I should take a cake decorating class with him...it just didn't take - anyhoo......I walked into the shop where you are supposed to buy your 10,000 supplies needed to take the class and I found these freaky little sugar things for the top of your cake and they looked just like my darling Stella....weird!
